The 1941 World Series, the first of seven "Subway Series" between these crosstown rivals, became famous in baseball lore when Dodgers catcher Mickey Owens dropped a third strike in the ninth inning of the fourth game, giving the Yanks a chance to come back and win the game and sending them on their way to the Championship in five games. Both pins exhibit the original threaded post, and the Yankees version has the Dieges and Clust manufacturer stamp. These beautiful examples grade EX-MT to NM.
