Since 1988 the World Boxing Organization has been one of the “Big Three” sanctioning bodies of international boxing. Offered is the stunning WBO Super Flyweight World Championship belt presented to Mark Too Sharp Johnson after his convincing victory over then-champion Fernando Montiel on August 16, 2003. The incredible relic weighs eight pounds and features a beautiful WBO center plate (9” in diameter) containing (53) decorative stones and two 5” circular plates affixed to either side of the seal. The reverse of the belt contains the official WBO metal-insignia (3” in diameter) as well as a silver paint-pen signature from Johnson which rates a (“9”) and was penned in our presence at our Silver Spring, MD headquarters. The belt is in phenomenal condition exhibiting no obtrusive signs of wear or usage, which is rare for these flamboyant and often-displayed relics. This truly impressive piece of pugilistic history is accompanied by the original box, signed program from Johnson’s last fight as champion (9/24/04), and a signed affidavit from Johnson directly produced for and issued to Huggins and Scott Auctions.
