Three years into his professional career with an impressive (13-1) record, Mark Too Sharp would be placed in his first title bout for the WBB Penta-Continental title against Alberto Jiminez (5/18/93). After a tough-fought victory Johnson would be rewarded with this beautiful Penta-Continental Boxing Union Flyweight Championship belt. The belt displays magnificently with a 6x7 center-plate featuring the PCBU seal as well as Flyweight Champion and Mark “Too Sharp” Johnson etchings on the top and bottom of the plate. The belt also features two 3x4 ornate emblems attached via chain to the center plate as well as a star emblem on either end. The surface and leather show minor to moderate wear including varying degrees of scratching on the plates. The left end of the belt bears a silver paint pen signature and inscription from Johnson (“8”), which was penned in our presence at our Silver Spring, MD headquarters. This remarkable continental belt will make for a permanent cornerstone to any prizefighting collection. Accompanying the belt is the original display trunk and signed affidavit from Mark Johnson directly produced for and issued to Huggins and Scott Auctions.
