Description

Becoming an Olympic athlete is a process that takes years of training and focus which may or may not be realized with a coveted medal of victory. Achieving an Olympic gold medal is an even more remarkable feat that immortalizes a competitor in the annals of sports history. Presented is a scarce opportunity to own one of these remarkable relics of international competition; a 1996 Olympic Gold Medal won by wrestler Kendall Duane Cross in the 57-kilogram weight division freestyle wrestling event. This gorgeous, unique piece from the Atlanta games is gold-plated and contains the inscription Freestyle 57kg on the bottom outer rim. The medal contains a handful of very minor surface scratches on the body that do not detract from the overall beauty and sanctity of the item. This item was obtained from Cross's personal collection, the balance of which is available in another lot. This chance to obtain the pinnacle of all Olympic memorabilia are few and far between and this medal is a great investment.
