Acclaimed pop artist and cartoonist Steve Sax has seen interest in his artwork skyrocket in the last decade. He has been published in the New York Times, Forbes, Golf Illustrated; commissioned by IBM and AT&T and has shown at the Norman Rockwell Museum and the Cooperstown Hall of Fame. His three-dimensional sports paintings are highly sought after by collectors. Presented is a chance to obtain a 24x39 piece that Sax created specifically for the popular Mickey Mantle restaurant in New York City in 2002. This piece features a painted diorama cutout of Mantle on an Astroturf base juxtaposed with a wide view of Yankee stadium from centerfield. The piece has some wear on the upper right corner of the plywood. Sax paid attention to detail with steady brush strokes and playful styling on this fun piece, which can be mounted on a wall or displayed on a flat surface.
