Still revered to this day, the Joe Louis-Billy Conn encounter of 1941 was a watershed event in boxing history as Conn vacated his light-heavyweight championship to battle heavyweight champion Joe Louis. Despite not gaining a pound for the fight, Conn would be ahead on all three scorecards through the 13th round, the round that would see him get knocked out by the “Brown Bomber”. Offered is the original fight program from this clash, which remains complete with an unmarked scorecard in overall EX-MT condition, with a small back tear. The program is difficult to find in any condition; this example is highlighted by a trio of cover signatures from several key spectators. Signed in pencil, the cover bears early penmanship from Joe DiMaggio (“8”), Lou Nova (“7”) and Bob Feller (“6”). This program is accompanied by a full-picture LOA from James Spence Authentications as well as the Klub Chatter version of the fight program (NM).
