Literally tons of baseball timber is offered each year to the adoring public, but few relics have the provenance as the offered Mickey Mantle game bat. This Louisville Slugger 125 Mickey Mantle signature bat has a model number B220 from 1961-63, weighs 32.3 ounces and is 35 inches in length. According to the PSA/DNA letter of authenticity, the bat is uncracked and is game ready but does not feature any game usage. There are light bat rack markings evident on the handle. This beautiful item was given to Robert Cerv by Mickey Mantle during their playing days. Along with the LOA from PSA/DNA is a letter from Bob Cerv attesting to the authenticity of the bat. The letter states, ”My name is Robert Cerv. I am a former major league baseball player. I was a member of the New York Yankees from 1951-56, and parts of 1960-1962. One of my teammates on the Yankees was Mickey Mantle. I obtained from Mickey one of his game bats. It is a Louisville Slugger 125 Genuine Mickey Mantle Model. On the knob is imprinted B220. I have had this bat since receiving it from Mantle until recently when I sold the bat to Richard G. Kohl. Sincerely, Robert Cerv.” The letter is signed by Cerv. This magnificent baseball bat from one of the game's most dynamic players is a premiere piece in any collection.
